£55m vs £1.3m - Livingston boss David Martindale hits back at his Celtic critics

Livingston manager David Martindale has defended his regressive tactics in today’s draw with Celtic, despite criticism from the stands at Paradise. The away side managed just four touches in the Celtic boss throughout the encounter, registering just two shots from 14.9% possession. [WhoScored] It was pretty unambitious stuff when you consider that Livingston were supposed…

We need to cut out this crap about teams parking the bus, we know before a ball is kicked that is what they will do. Maybe we should be questioning our manager for not playing his best striker, and don’t tell me he was rested with Europe in mind, that is an after thought this season, it’s all about winning the league and direct entry into the champions league.

Here was me thinking they came to secure a point and draw a game?

Jees for once someone on this site says it the way it is…

Cyanide keeps banging on about CM being the PIRLO resurrected …:joy::joy::joy::joy:

He could NOT open Luvy’s door if he had a fkn key …

HH

He could not open Livy’s door …

“The away side managed just four touches in the Celtic boss.” That’s four too many in my opinion

Livingston spent the entire game defending in two banks on their 18 yard line.
Our Central defence was more or less playing in the Central Midfield area for much of the game and so therefore our Midfield were pushed up to an extent it became nullified.
Pirlo is still alive and well and enjoying his retirement from playing as far as I am aware and the only comparisons you can draw between him and McGregor ( Pirlo is peerless in that role and no one has claimed anything different ) is the fact (and it is a fact btw) they both play(ed) the Deep Lying Playmakers role in games where teams generally came to try and win and not sit in for a full game defending a point as Livi did.
This renders the use of a Regista fairly pointless.
Perhaps Ange foreseen this and hence why made the decision to deploy Bitton in at 6 as a DMF for 60 minutes and pushed McGregor up into an advanced role ?
Which by the way appears to have flown right over your head?

They came to spoil any chance of an open game of football.
Mr Bobby Madhun did not get in their way in that regard.
This has no bearing whatsoever on the capabilities of Callum McGregor as a Footballer as there were others on the Park who also struggled to break them down, find space or pick the right pass for that matter.

You have a nice wee day all the same :kissing_heart::+1:t3:

If a poor team like livingston can take 4 points of us already this season i dont hold out much hope of winning the league.

Funny how you only ever post after a loss Billybuoy, it’s almost as if you prefer it the way a fan of another team would.

Accepting the loss of 4 points in 2 games against teams like Livy sums you up …

Losers mentality …

HH

You don’t know sh1t about sh1t pal, you sure as hell don’t know anything about me or what sums me up.
Where did I say anything about “accepting” the loss of any points?
