I said some time ago that if the board had any sense they should give Ange an extension immediately or run the risk of losing him as other clubs come calling. Well hate to say I told you so, but I told you so,
Aston Villa has emerged as a possible suitor, along with Gerrard and a couple of others.
Its all up to the board now
A well-connected friend down in Melbourne informs me that current Yokohama F. Marinos manager and former Rangers man Kevin Muscat is top of the list to replace Gerrard should the latter take the reigns at Villa Park. Muscat replaced Ange Postecoglou at both Yokohama FM and Melbourne Victory.
The story should break in the media very soon.
So does this mean Gerrard will go to Aston Villa instead of Ange?
I cant see Ange moving, he needs to get some silverware and prove himself first, having done that his price will skyrocket !!!

I can tell you that Muscat’s Melbourne-based manager has had contact from Ibrox.
SO obviously not many in Scotland know about this yet as it has yet to make the papers . its a case of watch this space …WOW !!!

That t*** of a Manager as you call him and disregard delivered 5 of the 9 League Titles you’ve supposedly been singing about for the last Decade.
He also took Celtic to the last 16 of the Champions League beating arguably the best Club side in World Football with a backline of Lustig Ambrose Wilson and Matthews at Left Back,a loanee up front and an 18 year old on the bench who was playing fitba up the park with his pals two years previous,
He also deliver 5 Titles as a player and represented our Club in a European Final.
Rodgers had no real Competition in Scotland under his tenure at Celtic , a budget that dwarfed every other Club in the Leaague and sauntered to every title as a result.
First sign of a Challenge he bolted out the door during the night mid Season without even saying goodbye to the guys that repaired his damaged CV.
Great Domestic Manager no doubt but a serial failure in Europe where he’s been found out at every Club despite having budgets Lennon could only dream about.
No Manager bar O’Neill had the financial backing Rodgers had at Celtic to that point.
So excuse some of us if we don’t call him for what he did and how he went about it.
Lenny’s failings are well documented,constantly highlighted and tend to override his achievements with some.
What cannot be ignored is the fact he achieved what he did at Celtic under conditions no Celtic player,Captain or Manager has had to work under in our entire history.
