Ange Postecoglou has today hit out at the narrative over the performance levels of his Celtic team. Today’s pre-Bayer Leverkusen press conference was dominated by the manager being disappointed with the condescension on show from the Scottish media. It’s the comments that the media have been quick to jump on, with both the Daily Record…

It is totally understandable that the manager will look to back his players.

It will not be lost on him the true level of the performances.

Remember what he walked into, give the guy a break and time

Let’s back AP and refuse to add to the negativity.

Tomorrow night will be tough but hopefully we can rack up some serious points in the next few league games

No we don’t don’t have squad at the moment who can this that and the next thing. That’s why we finished umpteen points behind last season. We’ve got nobody on the bench who can come on and change the game, and ,only one or two the manager trusts enough to play off that bench. One thing some miss is that, with two games a week, the manager has hardly any time to work with the players on the training pitch, another is that he is continually forced ,by injury, to change the team . No settled formation has been possible for weeks, this is crucial for a new manager. I seem to remember Klopp’s season collapsing because of an injury to one key player, not 3 or 4.
