Ange Postecoglou shares moment he won trust from Celtic players

Originally published at: Ange shares moment he gained trust from Celtic players

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou believes losing four goals to both Bayer Leverkusen and Real Betis helped forge trust between him and the Bhoys squad. The heavy defeat to the Germans was a significant blow at the time, especially having also conceded four away to Real Betis. However, Celtic have remained undefeated since then, winning eight…

Come on Ange and the bhoys lets do it over in
Germany loved what he said !! :+1::+1:

“Can we take the game to them and come away with a result? I think it’s really important that we do that in games like this. Because otherwise it’s all bravado without any substance.”

Something along the same lines as I have been saying which seemed to have offended some of you good chaps on this forum :rofl:

HH

Ooohhh, is THAT what you meant when you called him a second rate manager who was just as bad as the board members because he was only here for a cash grab? Excuse us for taking that the wrong way Jim.

I dont recollect saying he was a second rate manager as I had never heard of him … however to be fair … the results at the start of the season were not exactly inspiring …

I am still slightly in the Davy Provan … camp waiting to be fully won over!

Lets see how it goes on Thursday, Real Betis if there is still something to play for, the cup final and finally against the HUNS on the 2nd

HH

You called him second rate BECAUSE you’d never heard of him, as if because you didn’t know who he was he must therefore be sh1te. You belligerently slagged the man off before he was even in the door (during quarantine ffs) before he’d even had a chance to run the players.

You can conveniently forgot all the dumb sh1t you posted Jim (I get the feeling that’s your default setting “oh, did I say/do that? I cannae merember”), I recall the vitriol with which it was all said & the fact that you got stuck right into me & a few others for merely suggesting that you give the bloke a chance before judging him so harshly is why it sticks in my memory so persistently.

There’ll be a big party here when we win the league this year & as far as I’m concerned the rubbish you’ve posted about Postecoglou, McGregor (yup, I remember you slating our club captain too & I’m confident I’m not the only one who remembers) & the club in general renders your invite null & void.

Hail f’kin Hail

Wow grumpy you’re on one tonight …

Lets see where we are come the 3rd of Jan …

See if you are still ANGEBALLIN it then …

Lets see if he can do what the HIBEES did to the Huns …

Cannae be that difficult eh …?

HH

Ohh the Rangers are sh1te, you’ll get no argument from me there. How many games in was the new gaffer at that stage though? 7-8? 12 new squad members, new manager from half a world away & us absolute bossing them for the first half before sloppily conceding at a set piece (albeit, & I begrudgingly admit it, a very well taken set piece from them), which was a well established trend with our defense for well over a season before AP was ever appointed.

Glad you’re willing to give him another chance though Jim.

I’m confident I will be, as confident as I am that you will be hoping everyone else has conveniently forgotten all your sh1tposting by then too.

Certainly seems to have caught your attention :+1:

Everyone is entitled to their opinion G … that’s the point of a forum …

You conveniently seem to be hiding from the fact that Celtic remain 4 points behind a bang average and getting worse HUNS side…

You even seem to agree but dont quite know it :rofl: with one of my previous posts about the Huns game at Ibrox … It was there for the taking but ANGE could not get it done … when the door was wide open for him to walk through …

As I said lets see Jan 3 …

Oh, so you remember that post, convenient.
You seem a bit surprised that someone can agree about something with someone else who they don’t normally agree with. It’s not a foreign concept for me.

Talk more on Jan 3rd.

Good to see we are developing a bit of common understanding …

HH

Grumpy this was BEFORE THE GAME!!!

Davie Provan reckons Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is getting an “easy ride” from supporters and needs to change his tactical approach another bigger clubs.

The Australian will lead his side into battle against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League this evening, knowing a victory would edge the Parkhead outfit a step closer to a place in the Europa Group Stages …

HH

All over the boards after a loss as per I see Jim, such a gleeful wee troll.

You don’t support Celtic, you revel in every poor result & failure & stick the boot in at every opportunity, what fun!

You seem to take some measure of personal pride from the fact that we’ve lost away to a very decent opponent with a squad valued at 4-5 times ours, why is that I wonder?

No Scott as usual you are missing the point …

The HUNS are in the playoffs with a team I think you said ‘we played off the park at Ibrox’

Yet they can qualify for the knock out …

So what is it …???

IS IT BECAUSE THEY HAVE A MANAGER WITH ONE!!! GAME UNDER HIS BELT…

OR DO THEY HAVE A BETTER TEAM …?

OR IS IT BECAUSE THE HUNS ARE A MUCH WEALTHIER CLUB THAN US

Or are you just so much off an ANGEBALL fanatic you cannot see the flaws in his tactics … GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND!!!

We played them off the park in the first half is what I said, your selective memory strikes again, very convenient for your narrative.

You seem a little too obsessed with the Ranjurs Jim. Their group was nowhere near as strong as ours (you understand how the groups work, right? That we don’t all play the same opponents), we were always likely to finish behind Betis & Leverkusen, new manager, 12 new squad additions, were you expecting us to just sail through? Is it a case of you being naive or simply not having the first clue what you’re talking about?

Who would you have brought on? I mentioned after the game I would of preferred Montgomery over Mikey on the left, Soro over McCarthy at CM & that despite Ajeti being a bit Ajeti at least he pressed & tried to follow instruction. Does that sound to you like I agreed with Postecoglou’s subs? You either have difficulty reading or you simply don’t pay attention & then get yourself all worked up into a tizzy at the the things you think somebody said, it’s equal parts hilarious & sad.

I would have kept all 3 forwards on especially knowing what ‘ANGEBALLER’ should have known about his options …

I would have brought Soro on instead of McCarthy …

End of …

And if we had left our front trio on & struggled against Aberdeen because Jota or Kyogo or Forrest got injured or were exhausted you’d slag them manager off again & point out that domestic success is more important than the Europa….WE MUST STOP THE HUNS….DOES ANGEBALLER NEVER LEARN!!!

Something like that, you’re fairly predictable at this stage Jim.

You realize players need resting at times don’t you?

Scott we wont struggle against Aberdeen because domesticaly we are playing well.

Aberdeen are a shadow of the team they were …

I cannot believe you are actually trying to justify the substitutions because you are afraid of the DONS …

Celtic could have lost 6-2 in Germany but we hung on and the front 3 combined to score a fantastic goal …1-2 ( 30 mins to go)

This gave Bayer something to think about …

So what does Ange do take of the 3 strikers that helped to at least keep the ball in their half …

They stay on I think we could have got a draw …

We would have had a very good chance at paradise of beating Real B…

That’s my position end of …

Another mistake you have made is I do NOT blame the players even the subs 1%

I blame ANGEBALLER 100%

Aberdeen … jees how the mighty have fallen …

Oh and according to Euan, appreciated Euan Aberdeen have half their first team missing …

Talk tomorrow after the game.

HH

Where did I say I’m afraid of the Dons?

You don’t blame the players, at all? None of them are the least bit responsible for their own personal performances? It would appear that not only are you an awful armchair critic you’re also an abysmal armchair manager. Why sign any professional player at all if that were the case? If it all comes down to managers tactics on the dressing room whiteboard then the players could theoretically just be any ordinary fella off the street that can strap on a boot, why haven’t you enlightened us to this hidden gem of modern football knowledge before Jim!
I 100% BLAME YOU!!! (gosh, that IS fun, I can see why you do it)

You need to lay off the old spice Jim
