After the rigmarole Celtic had with Eddie Howe and his staff, it was extra surprising when Ange Postecoglou arrived alone at Paradise. It seemed incredibly surprising. Almost, you could argue, out of step with modern football. But one of his former players, Thomas Broich, has lifted the lid on chats he’s had with Postecoglou. Specifically,…

Ange is his own man ,with his own mind and evidently fully believes in his own approach.
When you surround yourself with yes men and people who cow tow to your every whim it is easier to fall into the mindset of always being right and never being questioned.
It also allows for excuse culture or blame shifting to increase.
The way things are Ange accepts full responsibility for anything that goes wrong as well as accepting full praise for it going right.
He got plenty stick from the Bloggers and Pundits early doors as results weren’t as good as some had hoped and he accepted it knowing time was a factor as was bedding in half a new squad.
His approach after all ( a fairly successful approach at that) has been tried and tested over a career not 10 weeks into a new appointment.
He may well bring in new back room staff as we go forward but the proof of any pudding is in the eating as they say.
He’s got a better tune out of some players than others have managed to date with the likes of Rogic,Bitton and Ralston performance levels hitting new highs.
Can he do the same with the likes of Kennedy and Strachan Jnr?
Well the League Cup win and the levels of performance and style we are playing in would seem to suggest that not only that he he can but that he already has.
The biggest issue with bringing in Managers with 8/10 of their own team is simple.
If it doesn’t work out on a Managerial front then you tend to lose an entire set up rather than just one guy and perhaps his trusted No2.
Benitez at Liverpool was a prime example of this, it took them almost a decade to rebuild after he left.
The fallout from Rodgers departure was definitely felt last Season at Celtic.
The knock on effect can be reduced by the current set up we have in place now.
He will soon let it be known if he wants his own men in I believe and I for one believe he is experienced enough to know if something needs fixing or just simply changed or improved upon.

The reason Ange didn’t bring a team with him is because he clearly doesn’t listen to anyone else anyway. He is a stubborn, pig-headed one plan man!
What he did shows a lack of managerial control. It highlights how he is not in the control some think he is.
In the current pandemic climate, not having a sidekick with your mentality was a huge risk! What if Ange ever has to isolate? What then?
Fans are kidding themselves if they believe Ange is in control!
As long as Celtic are winning it will be overlooked, but more ridiculous points being dropped like St. Mirren recently, and the two against Livingston, prove a huge lack of coaching skills and variations to our attacks.
We lost a game against Leverkusen due to some of the worst substitutions we have ever witnessed! Cruising with fifteen minutes remaining, Ange replaced FIVE outfield players, a full 50% of the team who were in control, and managed to lose a game that proved to be very costly and eliminated us from the particular competition! Bad management there!
But he does not have the control you might think he has, or Kennedy and Strachan would have been gone long ago!
Ange needs to learn that he isn’t always right! He makes some very bad calls and refuses to admit it! That’s a problem!

Behave yersel…… the guy inherited a bag a sh** and has made significant improvements.

He’s given the local guys a shot…. If they don’t deliver then they will be out.

Funny how we’ve stopped hearing about Director of Football and changes to our supposed hopeless coaches.

Fans only care about winning….so far so good

Ange has been around to he Globe but walked into a club needing a big refix , he has done well so far although bringing in the his January window early ok n 3 X Japanese players and the Aussie guy in midfield and who knows if anyone else to arrive soon . But wish Ange all the best and I think he shall come good

For me Ange is looking at Europe to try do well in …But the SPL title would be the icing on the he cake for Celtic and Ange . Next season though shall be very gd for Celtic FC and really is when to judge.
