Describing Graham Arnold as a ‘tactician’, many Aussies would agree, is a bit fanciful.
Arnold is a man-manager and a motivator. Even during his successful stints in charge of Central Coast and Sydney FC his on field ‘tactics’ were one-dimensional at best. Mark Bosnich’s criticism of Arnold is warranted. Arnold also has thin skin.
A poor result against Vietnam next week and Arnold should be looking for a new challenge. There’s plenty of young Australian coaching talent with tactical nous and understanding waiting in the wings.
And to think that Arnold worked under a world-renowned tactician in Guus Hiddink…

Yeah, from what I’ve seen of Australia under Arnold it’s not the most exciting football in the world. That said, I want Rogic at the World Cup, so from a totally uneducated point of view I’m backing Arnold for these next two games!
