Barry Ferguson saddened by rivals' Celtic stance

Barry Ferguson is disappointed there will be no Celtic fans at Ibrox on Sunday for the derby against Rangers. As we reported last week, the Ibrox side had sent 750 tickets to Celtic ready for sale to supporters before pulling the plug at the last moment. 67 Hail Hail understands that Celtic have been prepared…

He is right and it’s sad that it has come to this. I think he is alright and have listened to him on PLZ in the past and he was fair with his comments at a time when we did 9IAR.

I too think cutting the away allocations for derby matches is a step backwards.

The away fans on either side add to the atmosphere in these games and having bigger numbers can pick the players up if things aren’t going too well.

Fair enough, the teams can make better season ticket money by selling the seats to home fans in the former away team fan locations, but surely for 2 games a season that could be let go?

Our rivals host the first derby of the season and are unlikely to budge. Maybe Celtic have to be the bigger men and offer a bigger derby away allocation to get things moving.

I know their fans are not people we like at the best of times, but having healthy away allocations will help our game I think :four_leaf_clover:
