Malky Mackay was not a happy man last night after Celtic scored a dramatic late winner against his Ross County side in Dingwall. In fact, he was fuming with referee Alan Muir for allowing six minutes of injury time, which he daftly suggested was seven in his post-match interview. Celtic scored with 96:06 on the…
Just in case Mackay didn’t know, his team had the extra minutes to try and score as well…unless I’m mistaken?
If there’s one thing that terrible ref got right last night, it was recognising the time wasting by Mackay team. They got exactly what they deserved…i.e, zero, zip, zilch, nil, nothing, nowt, nada.
Don’t Celtic prepare for places like Dingwall by playing bounce games on a smaller sized pitch? It wouldn’t seem so. Couldn’t find a pass, couldn’t control the ball, and apart from the goals, every cross was over-hit. Juranovic blasting them about three foot over wee Abada, even Pierre Van Hooijdonk wouldn’t have got on the end of any of those.
Starfelt - give me strength. If he isn’t putting pressure on Hart on his goal line with bomb-scare passes, he’s needlessly putting us in trouble. Both of his bookings were a farce but he gave the referee the excuse, by mouthing off for the first one and by needlessly bringing down the Ross County player for the second. He just isn’t a top-drawer player, but then neither was Boyata, and he ended up a mainstay of the quadruple treble. The lad’s a trier so if he listens to what Angle is telling him on the training ground, maybe he can improve and mature the way Boyata did. But at the moment your heart is in your mouth when he is under any kind of pressure.
Right now this team is running on empty, new impetus is needed from somewhere. Maybe the goal itself will provide it. It was true grit stuff. We need to take some of that into the cup final and pray that Kyogo is fit.
He’s every right to feel hard done by as his side were only seconds from taking points from the best Footballing side in Scotland.
The fact he has a microphone stuck under his nose minutes from defeat doesn’t help either.
He should be proud of how County played and take his side forward with great confidence.
Any Manager would be pashed off losing that late in a game.
I think one of the worst culprits was Carter Vickers last night he must passed the ball out the park at least 3 times when aiming for Ralston 20 yards away
I think Malky and other managers only see what they want.
We should have had a penalty before we finally scored and i fully believe Jordan White led with his elbow and joined the long list of players who somehow have not been ordered off for Assaulting a Celtic player this season.
How many games since day 1 when Halliday assaulted McGregor and got away with it have refs failed to spot our players being attacked,
Fully agree about the fact it’s been open Season all Season on our players and we have been lucky none of them have been put out the game long term .Turnbull and McCarthy being two of the worst.
My point is any Manager who loses valuable points after 6 minutes added time is going to whinge but more so straight after the game when most interviews take place. One thing was overlooked by him and the media was the time wasting going on by County before and period added on when they thought they had a point secured.
