Indeed, Fabrizio Romano claimed that the Hoops had backed down from talks with Rubin Kazan regarding the Swedish centre-back. This was said to be partly down to the fact that Celtic are waiting to see what happens…

Who is negotiating our deals and why are they making such a mess of them?? I entered this pre season full of hope but now I’m beginning to get that old sinking feeling, no targets signed and a few last minute loans. Pull your finger out Celtic

As I’ve said before this is the problem we have in allowing McKay to work alongside Lawwell. He obviously has taken on Lawwell’s mantle of pretending to be involved in bringing in players while just farting about. When we get bombed out of Europe the fans will be absolutely raging and when they get back in to Celtic Park McKay and the board will know all about it.

Why are Celtic playing Preston 3 days before a massively important CL qualifier? Madness,it just gives some who don’t want to stay the opportunity to pick up an ‘injury’.

I’ve never known a football club to treat its fans as badly as Celtic. I’ve said before that all the links to potentially-good signings are put out there to encourage the fans to part with season ticket money and then they end up bringing in a few more inexperienced youngsters from the petty cash tin. It’s absolutely disgraceful how they treat the support and they just keep on getting away with it. I guarantee that no more than one signing of reasonable quality, if even that, will be made this year. All the various news links to good players are red herrings - they’ve no intention of buying big. Watch this space!
