The Celtic supporters have lauded the decision to throw Tom Rogic into the mix from the bench this afternoon in what proved to be a game-changing decision. Rogic was given the final 15 minutes after being left on the bench at Pittodrie this afternoon. Celtic were left desperate for a goal after a troubling day…

I think you will find it was a combination of McGregor dropping into the deeper role ( allowing an easy out ball for the defence and getting it forward quicker) and Rogic coming back in.
The issue isn’t Rogic in Europe it’s Turnbull who isn’t ready for that level yet.
We know this because under Rodgers the McGregor ,Rogic-Christie set up worked a treat when it came about.
But today on the domestic level (Where Turnbull is fine) both Rogic and Turnbull combine to create a winner that prior to Bitton going off didn’t look very likely.

Rogic was a game changer today, he’s more of an impact player coming off the bench than starting with Turnbull. I said previously he was more of a threat than Biton and defo more than McCarthy or Soro, Ange has to get the credit for the substitution. I would keep Rogic as the impact sub for sure, and doesn’t he just love playing against Aberdeen

Rogic had an impact for sure but it coincided with the tactical change of deploying McGregor as the Deep Lying Playmaker as opposed to Bitton a Defensive Mid.
As soon as McGregor dropped deeper the defence were able to pass it straight out to him (as the movement he creates enables him to create his own space)and we were putting them on the back foot.

Biton isn’t a forward thinking player were as Rogic drives at defences and makes things happen. Having that attacking mid was refreshing, giving the defence an out means less passing across the back which also meant Hart kicked more, I’m more comfortable with the ball cleared from defence, one thing I thought Ajeti was a pointless sub and Kyogo was wasted on the left. Had we had Rogic through the middle and Kyogo up front we would have scored more.

I agree on Ajeti and I don’t think Ange has quite got to grips with him as a player because he’s not a lead the line 9 and is a natural poacher by trade?
I don’t t know if this is the influence of Kennedy ( he was clearly in discussion with Kennedy prior to the change) but to leave Giakoumakis an actual lead the line 9 on the bench made no sense at all unless he’s no for enough which then brings into question why was he on it in the first place?
As for Kyogo he was a left winger for the bulk of his time at Kobe so Ange must have scouted him with that role in mind surely?
I think the problem was Kyogo was knackered by the time the change was made amd struggled as a result.
The one noticeable thing was Ramsay who kept Jota quiet throughout struggled to cope with Kyogo more and Jota made an immediate impact on the right.
The obvious change should have been Giakoumakis on to lead the line with perhaps Ajeti or Kyogo playing off of him.
I found the Ajeti switch weird as well.

Ajeti will struggle to find teams willing to take him on of he keeps being absent in games, somebody needs to tell him he’s playing for his future. It’s like Montgomery, I thought he was awful today and his ready made replacement sat on the bench, I would have brought the Greek on over Ajeti any day, he must watch him disappear in games and think what do I have to do to get on??

Did you see MAGIC MOS GOAL

Now that’s football … he takes me back to Jinky and Georgy

Jock Stein wow

Cyandide …:rofl::rofl::+1::+1:

An absolute impact player your dead right,he is always at his best in that role, always was…:shamrock::four_leaf_clover::ireland:

Thank god Rogic showed his real worth with the only piece of quality at a time we were running out of ideas ,against a poor Aberdeen side we allowed back into the game by given them possession fouling 27 times so they could launch it forward knowing we still can defend.
When i saw Anjeti put through the middle i could not believe it.
The jota switch was correct as Abada was poor in the second half but why he didn’t move Montgomery to left wing and keep Kyogo central and bring on Scales to defend as Aberdeen highlighted our left back weakness at half time moving Saunders to attack us more,
Bitton consistently gave away silly fouls when will he ever learn or be told to cut it out.

Watch all Kyogo highlights and goals in japan he was never a winger and will be a waste of the best movement from a player at Celtic since the king of kings his movement and anticipation is that good. Even Abada his complication of goals come from central supporting areas.
If the Greek is any good surely he will be a foil and target for Kyogo movement.

Ange got out of jail today…. just!! His stubbornness is costing us and we are now a mid-table team! How on earth can you play a guy who is smaller than Greg Taylor (Montgomery) at left back? The comical goal lost was an embarrassment to defending! Hart should have taken complete control of the situation. Scales was stuck on the bench again, why? Ajeti was brought on again and Guakamakis left on the bench, why? Cameron Vickers is worse than Starfelt and that’s saying something!! Ange hasn’t a scooby! It’s going to be a long season.

Carter Vickers Is definitely better than Starfelt, a more physical presence who put a himself about, I’m hoping It will be him and Julien as our 2 CBs when he’s fit again

He arrived a winger who can also play right across the front and in behind in the 10 role.
Try watching some videos that cover his entire game and not his just goals.
From the Scouting videos you can clearly see he’s as comfortable out wide on both feet as he is going through the middle.
We signed a lead the line striker in Giakoumakis it would make no sense whatsoever relegating him to a bit part player from being the top goal scorer in the Dutch top flight.
That aside Kyogo will get booted tae **** in the SPFL if you attempt to play him through the middle every week.
Giakoumakis is used to it and also built for it.

We are asking Ajeti to play a role that doesn’t suit him.
He’s a poacher and we should be using him as one to get the most from him.
If you remember Hooper was banging them in at a tremendous rate at Celtic under Lenny and the reason for that was the partnership he had with Stokes and or Samaras.
No sooner Lenny started using him in a deeper role and expecting him to lead the line Hoopers goal returns started diminishing as a result.
He than moved to Norwich where Chris Hughton decided to do the same deploying Hooper in behind Van Wolfeswinkle?
The result of that experiment subsequently seen Hoopers goals dry up and also VW’s as both were forced into playing different roles that their previous roles got them the move in the first place.
The same is happening with Ajeti.
He’s made a career out of poaching in and around the 6 yard box playing off of a main striker.
Not by leading the line and the attack as a true 9.

If we continue to deploy him the wrong way we won’t get much from him it’s simply not in his game.

Ajeti is not good enough to play anywhere for Celtic
