The Jindrich Trpisovsky to Celtic hype train keeps on rolling. His Slavia Prague side have knocked Rangers out of the Europa League tonight, just weeks after they did the same to Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City side. If that’s not enough to catch your attention as a Celtic supporter, then I don’t know what to tell…
Legitimately buzzing after that one. I’m very impressed with this fella.
Don’t forget Lennon thought they pumped us too!
Has Trpišovský said anything about the horrible, racist conduct of his player & some of the Slavia fans? Miiiiiiiight be an important marker of his character. Being a good tactician is one thing, but if he’s not a stand-up guy on the right side of things I don’t want him anywhere near our club.
Yes that’s absolutely a red line. Human decency takes primacy over football. I’ve not heard anything from the club but it could very well be in Czech (which I don’t read).
I just found this club statement which says…a lot of things.
They’ve also filed criminal charges over the Roofe-Kúdela incident.
If it’s any indication of how things may go, they also have Kemar Roofe listed as “Kemal” elsewhere on their site.
Think it’s a fair point and we will probably dial back a lot on the Slavia praise on the site. We were planning to do more yesterday but obviously canned it.
In fairness it looked like Gerrard and Trpisovsky had a fairly civil exchange at full time and all their noises are coming from exec level.
You folks are all class and I’d expect nothing less from you.
I’m glad that the managers seem civil, though I can’t imagine these exec. actions are going to take things off the boil anytime soon.
