It’s maybe too late but why do we need a director of football all of a sudden?
Wasn’t that the set up (ish) with Wim Jansen and Jock Brown? Fair enough we stopped 10 back then but neither of them were happy in their roles.
Surely that has to be a contributing factor to Howe pulling the plug. Perhaps he wanted to be the overall manager like many before and didn’t need to be answering to someone directly above him all the time?
Can’t we just get a decent gaffer in and back him financially to bring in his own coaching brigade as well as the required playing squad we need
