Well, it’s official; Celtic will be up against a different Rangers manager – Steven Gerrard has made his move to Aston Villa. Gerrard, who won a whopping 1 trophy, becoming less successful in Scotland than Brendan Rodgers, Neil Lennon and Callum Davidson, has “earned” his Premier League move to the Villains. Dean Smith was sacked…
I finish work at 12.30 today then off for 5 days and it’s my birthday on Saturday, this news starts the goid times with a bang, the Huns must be beelin
BBC sport hailing slippys time at ipox as a success, 1 trophy from 9, standards
Cheerio, cheerio , cheerio
Shame he wont be able to take an important part of his backroom staff with him guys like john Beaton and bobby Madden will be so missed and there will be a minutes silience in the ref lodge meeting tonight now the news is out he’s done a Brendan , yes they knew big Ange is coming for them big time.
i wondered why there was that huge banner at ibrox on Saturday Least we Forget did someone know he was on his way?
Lets hope they get wee Derek McInnis to take the job this time as its always nice beating his teams in cup finals.
It was inevitable that he’d leave as soon as a reasonable sized job in the EPL came up. The fact that Purslow is the CEO at Villa certainly shouldn’t be underestimated. Whether he’s a success or not is open to question. Certainly 1 trophy out of 9 isn’t overly convincing.
He certainly won’t win the EPL with Villa, a top six finish and European football will be considered successful there. But it does take him closer to the Liverpool job though than being at Rangers ever would.
It’ll be interesting to see who comes in as his replacement now, certainly given the upheaval this will cause, it’ll certainly benefit us re winning the league this season IMHO.
Hail Hail
This is going to be a tougher sell for them than it ever was going to be for us.
It’s been well publicised the losses posted by 2angers this Season and any prospective Manager will be coming in under a cloud of an immediate need to sell in January and an even bigger need to win every game with the future of this incarnation in the balance.
The balance being a £50m deficit in a year (£26.1m in Loans to produce a £23.5m loss plus another £7.5m short of finishing this Season) and utterly reliant on Champions League Finances next Year to avoid another catastrophic event.
Put it this way an Admin event this Season amd subsequent points deduction coupled with a resurgent Celtic and a solid Hearts is a potential nightmare scenario at Ayebrokes.
It’s actually a £30M loss if you consider the £6.5M that the squinty glib said shouldn’t count in last seasons accounts.
Am I the only one not happy with this??? I was wanting him to stay until the end of the season so we could put him back under his rock. Little ■■■■■■■
It’s a £50m hole in the Accounts when you have to put in £26m in order to make a £24m loss.
The media seem to have missed this altogether
One more thing…Stevie G really did mean it when he said Let’s Go didn’t he
They’re in trouble no matter what way you slice & dice it.
Don’t know if there’s any truth in this but just been told the huns got there lawn mowers repossessed as they failed to keep up there payments! And there still missing a broad black strimmer:joy:
HAIL HAIL
KEEP THE FAITH:four_leaf_clover:
A move was always on the cards, Ibrox was a stepping stone as is Villa. He was a fantastic player at Liverpool but needs to up his game if he wants to manage there. It might not be a good move for us, the Huns might get somebody better!!!
They might get Mccoist back, lol
Wonder what players he’ll take with him?
A Broad Black Strimmer
Aye, it’s a belter🤣, but I have to confess that I blagged it from someone else. Still funny though😂
