Two things need to be taken into account when judging Ajeti against Furuhashi.
The first one being Ajeti is a poacher and therefore needs to be payed alongside a supporting Striker who will do the leg work outside the box and pull defenders out of position in order to get Ajeti into and around the 6 yard box where as he has proven up to this point will score goals.
The second point is Furuhashi is not a recognised striker and never arrived as one.
His movement is exactly the type of movement a poacher like Ajeti will thrive off of much like Hooper did Stokes and Griffiths did Édouard when they were paired together.
It seems to me Furuhashi banged in afew early goals on arrival and was suddenly elevated to Larssonesque striking abilities?
He wasn’t brought to Celtic to lead the line that why we signed Giakoumakis as a replacement for Griffiths who should have had he not been a total waster and ruined it at the Club.
It’s kinda pointless asking Ajeti to do the job of Griffiths or Giakoumakis because that is very clearly not his game as a poacher.
At the moment however it’s a case of needs must but that is not to say he couldn’t form a partnership with either Furuhashi and or Giakoumakis against certain sides because the reality is when you are up against stubborn or packed defences as we so often are then having a poacher who gets into the 6 yard area waiting for scraps,rebounds or quality passes in there is actually a great way to undo these defences.
Hooper done it very successfully at Celtic and Stokes was nowhere near the level of Furuhashi so it bodes well for either Ajeti or Giakoumakis in the long run provided Furuhashi gets the protection he will need in Scotland and we can keep him fit.
I could actually envisage all 3 on the Park at some point under Ange against the cannon fodder in the League.

Good article, but somewhat wasted by your final comment re: cannon fodder! We’re in that bracket too, ‘til we start getting away results.
When we get pumped by 6 or 7 goals I will certainly drop us into that category

You appear to be confusing someone taking the time out to point out Ajeti is a poacher and so therefore to get the most out of Ajeti (as Basel did -see the video link provided) you need to play him as one off of a supporting striker.
At no point have I declared him the answer to all of our current issues.
Griffiths was but unfortunately he’s a heider and no longer an option.
