Celtic have been encouraged by John Hartson not to give Rangers a guard of honour ahead of next weekend’s Glasgow derby at Parkhead. The Ibrox side will visit Parkhead in their first game since being crowned champions. Celtic’s 0-0 draw against Dundee United at the weekend confirmed their status. That’s therefore led to talk about…

We have bigger issues to deal with… guard of honour is nonsense…,… get on and get the club sorted out so we can get ourselves back on the correct road.

Definitely have bigger issues to deal with mate. But this issue is the next one. If we give Rangers a guard of honour, I don’t see what kind of gain we get from it. It would just be a case of us fooling ourselves, especially if we then go on to lose the game.

Bigger issues indeed, not least having to snag a good Manager and having to buy a dozen or so good players. However, I don’t see why our players shouldn’t clap the other guys on to the field, it may make our boys feel humble enough to make sure they never have do do it again.

I can understand that view, but considering they’ve refused to do the same to us, I wouldn’t feel comfortable with it. I don’t think people who sit on either side of this fence can be swayed though. It’s one of those where you have your opinion on it and will always stick with it.
