Dave, a lot of if’s but biggest problem is Edouard not signing extension. Not signing means he wants a better deal for himself when he does leave for £20m or less. It should be £40m or nowt this season, we have Leigh G, who we know can score for fun and the other two to help get the 10.
I get that mate, but if Edouard was to leave for £20m instead of say £30m, would that be a disaster so long as we secured 10-in-a-row? Fans would surely prefer a 10th consecutive title as opposed to yet more money that will hardly be spent on the playing squad in any case.
Griffiths is some player on his day, but it looks risky to be relying on him particularly given the start to the season he’s had.
If you’re offering me 10-in-a-row but selling Edouard in a cut-price deal next summer, I would personally bite the hand off!
