You could be forgiven for forgetting just how impressive young Celtic defender Stephen Welsh was in his debut last season. With the Hoops toiling for centre-back options on Hamilton’s artificial surface back in February, Neil Lennon turned to Welsh to partner Christopher Jullien and Kris Ajer as part of a back-three. If we do can we get him a loan deal with CELTIC FC instead of Ajer? Also looking at what loan deal done for Ajer. It turned him into a useless frightened central defender, instead of the midfielder he was?

I must admit I’m one of Ajer’s fans when he’s on form. His loan at Kilmarnock helped push him into Brendan Rodgers’ team and he didn’t really look back. Now he’s getting linked with moves to AC Milan etc.

There are plenty who don’t like what Ajer brings to the table, but his loan at Killie definitely provided him with a chance to shine here. Same could be done for Welsh who I really like.

David, you’ve got to admit a link to AC Milan isn’t real. Just look at moreorless he was touted to be wanted by them as well. If they AC Milan come for him it’s done with a fanfare after the fact. I know you like what he brings? but running around the box with an other teams player not looking at the ball with hands on all the time, he should be sent off for that alone let alone a penalty given if the player goes down.

Against County, he’s learned a lot. Did you see how he’s kept his hands to himself and behind his back as well as a great poachers goal, he could be getting better, time will tell when defending in the box and his hands on approach.

Definitely time will tell with Ajer. I agree with what you originally said though in that he grabs his opponents too much. He needs to learn but he coped well at the weekend. We’ll see how he performs in the Europa League and against Rangers too when he’s up against better forwards!

He was at it again last night but in their box, as was one of St Mirren’s players on Ajer full grip lol. But as all are saying he is great at coming forward, then Broony back defending as per some tank he still has @35.
