Chris Sutton insists Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou needs time and patience after tonight’s heavy defeat at home to Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Europa League. The Germans were a class above tonight and deserved their victory, even though Celtic did create a number of decent chances throughout. Sutton thinks the Bhoys were exposed but called…
If they were a class above we wouldn’t have worked their keeper as much as we did.
We created as many clear cut chances as the second best side in Germany currently.
Plenty positives in that.
The manager needs time and I’m fine with that.
I understand that he has a model and will chase it regardless of the magnitude of any negative result.
What I don’t like is the idea that you go up against a team that are much better equipped and play majorly open. The opposition don’t need to think too hard about what to do. When the Celtic attack fails there are massive gaps in the full back positions, fire the ball in there, get it across into the box and BINGO.
Sunday now a big game and hopefully we will see the positive elements of this attacking model
Jusr wstched highlights and agree Celtic had loads chances. As for Ange style I am not convinced about inside fulbacks defenders should be in a position to prevent balls coming in suppose patience required but need to defend more
I watched the highlights and poor finishing and found myself holding back the tears Mick.
I believe its called inverted fullbacks when I played I was always told to pysh forwards wide.how do you do that if your in the middle of the field?
