Patryk Klimala could be heading for a permanent Celtic exit, less than 18 months after signing a four-and-a-half-year deal with the club. Mark Hendry in The Glasgow Times reports today that interest in the striker from Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls is of the permanent kind, rather than the potential loan move…
This lad was never given game time to prove his worth.
I agree Brian, I’d prefer he stay & IF he is to go then I’d be happier if it were a loan with no option to buy, he seems to just need things to click for him & he’ll be away racing…
I’m always going to feel like Klimala can come good. But I’ve been here before - Rasmussen, Scepovic, Pukki etc - I reckon Klimala is probably that kind of character. I can’t see him making it at Celtic but I love having eternal hope in a striker.
Pukki did at least come good somewhere else.
Yeah I agree. I think he has a lot of potential and needs proper coaching.
@john.mcginley my thoughts exactly with Pukki. I wanted him to prove how good he actually was while at Celtic. Interesting the Deila connections between the two of it happens!
What’s the Deila-Klimala connection?
I just was saying I thought Pukki would come good (played under Deila) and Klimala might come good (and might play under Deila).
Saying it’s a tenuous connection is probably being generous as there’s no guarantee anything is going to come if it.
Oh, Deila manages the other New York team, NYCFC. The one with links to Manchester City.
You’d think that it would make more sense for Celtic to have some links to them considering the the manager and the past dealings with City, but it seems they’ve been more connected to Red Bull lately, having sold Harper and Gutman to them and now the Klimala link.
Oh! That’s quite a mistake in my part. Thanks for pointing that out mate.
Oh it’s no big, no worries whatsoever! I just wasn’t sure if I had missed some link between the two! Haha
