Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been overlooked for the Ipswich Town job, and most likely the Hibernian job, despite his impressive record with the Hoops. Former Manchester United assistant first-team coach Kieran McKenna has been given the job at Ipswich Town [BBC]. Meanwhile, it seems as if Shaun Maloney will be taking over imminently…

Lenny’s CV has been severely damaged after last Season.
I’m a fan of Neil and his pragmatic approach to games but for me I think the toll taken as Celtic Manager in his first spell has had a very big impact on him going forward.
He’s lost that hunger and drive he had as a younger Manager and is looking a bit washed out and stressed.
For his own mental state I would hope and suggest he takes a break from Football, get some family time, maybe do some media stuff and then perhaps go back to the style of Management that served him so well at Celtic and Hibs.
Good luck to him.
God Bless him and his family.

It’s possible that Neil Lennon could find an opportunity under the Australian sun.
Western Sydney Wanderers may soon place a position vacant ad for a new manager given Welshman Carl Robinson’s poor start to the current A-League campaign.
The former Asian champions have been blighted by a succession of managerial failures in recent times. WSW is a club backed by a wealthy football fanatic along with state-of-the-art training facilities and a shiny new stadium. Success hungry fans out Parramatta way might view Lennon as an option.
Another candidate is Arthur Papas, a protégé of Ange Postecoglou, who has started the A-League season with a bang at the Newcastle Jets.
