Former Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie has sent a message to supporters after joining English Championship side Bournemouth on deadline day. The Scotland international said, on Instagram: “Thank you Celtic for the last 6 years of my life. I will be forever grateful to have played a very small part in this club’s massive history. The…

Aye, Ryan. Whatever you say. Talk, after the event is cheap. You kept the club and the supporters at their wits end for the last year. You could have signed a short term deal and help repay some of the faith, support and goodwill of the fans. You let us down and could have made the club more money that we could have used.
Remember Stan Petrov, Ryan, a true Celtic Legend. Petrol knew he was going, Celtic knew he was going, but he signed a new contract with the outcome that we made more money for the club. You gave up, along with a few others as well and that cost the club that any and I mean any, fan would give their life blood to have what you had and you chucked it.
So, welcome to championship obscurity and don’t let the door hit your backside on the way out.
My opinion, that’s all.

Bit harsh….he always gave his best unlike some others. Football is a harsh trade. He was on his way out of Celtic and by a quirk of fortune ended up having a decent career here.

I don’t understand his move to the second tier. Time will tell how all that pans out.

It’s his life / career but what are the chances of getting a better gig than the famous Glasgow Celtic…?

Wish Ryan Christie all the best . He will enjoy living down there beautiful part of England football wise he was hit and miss but would say he gave us :100: per cent

It absolutely is a beautiful place to live. I’d hope that’s an fortunate benefit rather than a reason to move there.

I have always been a fan of Ryan’s and felt he unfairly got a hard time last season when the whole team was playing poorly. Celtic wasn’t a happy place last season for anyone. He always gives 100% and he has great skill and will be missed. At least we will see him playing for Scotland. Best of luck in future to him and Eddy.

Apart from a lovely beach and warmer its no more nicer than Inverness where he started his career but in terms of football leaving Celtic and European nights sadly its a a million miles apart. Eddie Howe bottled the chance to manage a club with 60,000 passionate fans demanding success and at times Ryan failed to deliver when it mattered too so maybe he will be a star in the seaside little town.

Ryan Christie was a good servant to this club and has now chosen to go elsewhere, right or wrong that’s his choice and you have to respect that, good luck to him.

Hope he does well, worse places than Bournemouth :rofl:

I have no problem with any player moving on, if that’s what they think is best for them.
He obviously thinks Bournemouth is the best place for him…so who am I to argue ?
All I will say is…I don’t think he handled it well in terms of timing.
Like others have said…he could have engineered it in such a way that the Club benefited financially more than it did…so that’s not clever from a Celtic point of view.
However…I always thought he gave 100% when he played…and that is more than can be said for others.
I wish him well with his new Club.

He was one of our better players
but possibly was not on the wages
of even lesser players and has went for the money this even though he no longer shall have European football there.

Maybe went also in the hope a bigger club in Eng go fir him if he does well and bigger wage again, as let’s be frank about it money talks and it’s all that younger generation think about. Greed maybe also took him away like rest them .

Different type players and People
who played the game years ago
when the Lisbon Lions side roared but again then players played more fir the hooped shirt and wasn’t fir money with them guys.

Just a different people tday and they ain’t so good But Celtic FC board let’s be honest always were tight.

not saying he wasn’t. I really hoped he would stay, especially when you see the way the team is playing under ange. He knew he was never going to stay, yet he let me and other believe that he would/ Ajer and eddy both made it clear they were going, we all knew that, but christie never did. That’s what irks me about him, it feels like he led us on. I don’t have a problem with players moving on, that’s the nature of the game. he played like he wanted to stay and be part of it, but sadly it was never his intention, I’m hacked off at the way he left.
Its all immaterial now though, he’s away and that’s it.
Folk have their opinions on this and that’s my take on it.
Cheers
