Sligo Rovers midfielder Greg Bolger has stated that losing Johnny Kenny to Celtic is a “huge loss” for his club as he hailed his work ethic. Kenny broke into the Rovers side last season and made an extremely positive impression. The youngster played 34 times for his boyhood club and managed 14 direct goal contributions…

Well David, I am not so sure Johnny Kenny will be with the B team when he resumes training which should be about now. Don’t forget his 24 number shirt, how Ange said recently he selects players suitable for his team and style of player, Johnny Kenny as other Jan recruits would have been well selected and scrutinised before transfers, Kenny is the type of centre forward Ange would love with 20 mins to go to stretch a game, very quick and relentless in closing down defenders. I travelled recently to see the Dundee Utd game at Paradise and seen Johnny Kenny play all season last season in Sligo, he was improving with every game and without saying this lightly he definitely has the potential to be a positive impact squad team player this season. As Ange said we will need all the players recruited in Jan on the three remaining fronts. Celtic will love him. Huge effort gives his all and my prediction is he will be playing in cameo roles in the Celtic first team before season is over. Hail Hail.
