Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis is feeling good after helping the Bhoys to a 2-0 victory against St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership. The Greek forward was handed his first-ever start after an impressive cameo against Ferencvaros on Tuesday night and he didn’t disappoint. We now have a genuine lead the line target man which is something we haven’t really had since Dembele left the Club.
A true physical presence whom defenders won’t want to kick allover the park like we have seen on the likes of Kyogo and Jota since their arrivals.
The most pleasing aspect for me was seeing our main striker in the danger area anticipating a cross as soon as the ball bounced over the defender and finishing it with quality and a clean strike.
It bodes well going forward and I fully believe once he ,Kyogo and Jota get a few games under their belt together we will see a very dangerous and effective attack emerging.
Having the likes of Forrest,Abada and Johnston available also allows Ange to mix it up no end going forward.
We are no longer reliant on one man up top getting the goals again with goals allover the attack and from Midfield.
