After a stop-start beginning to the season, James Forrest finally looks set to get going again after the international break. The Scotland international had looked in fine form during the early stages of the Ange Postecoglou era. Two goals and three assists in his first six games under the new boss was a fine way…
I must admit, that I’m a little concerned on how easy Forrest been getting injured and needing several weeks out for knocks. I know this happens to lots of players and appreciate he’s not long returned from a long time out with a more serious injury, but he’s a player we need in the team more regular and not losing him for 2-3 games every other month.
The same would have to be said for Mikey Johnston. If he can’t get himself fit then he could soon see his contract expire without renewal.
Maybe more time in the gym and doing specific workouts to beef them up. In other words, some preventive maintenance, instead of running them till they drop or take a knock
The last few seasons important players are on the treatment table rather than on the pitch. HH
