Celtic midfielder James McCarthy picked up yet another fresh injury as his Motherwell squad absence was explained by Ange Postecoglou. Hoops fans were left baffled and frustrated by the fact that McCarthy wasn’t part of the matchday squad at Fir Park on Saturday. That’s despite the fact he’s already taken over two and a half…
He did extremely well to get a 4 year contract at his age and at the very last minute of the window. Why was he a free agent until then and for the best part of 4 months?
Lets just hope he comes good eventually.
He’s a hell of a good player Jim. I think that the hard training can be a problem for any player especially as he had no pre season. Ange had no real specialist staff to advise on each individual player so there were bound to be problems. I agree though it’s always a problem when he gets injured.
@david.walton. I don’t believe Ange brought him in at all, I do believe he was brought in because of Broony leaving but nothing to do with Ange. Celtic media supporters brought him in not knowing his lack of first-team fitness, Just like the great defender wanted by the supporters? Celtic Media supporters. Great idea just didn’t make it, like James with the four year contract if he left at the end of the season due to the small injury’s his 4 year wages or big pay off would see him happy.
I want him to succeed, he’s a Tim through through ,less likely to jump into tackles than Soro, bags of experience but the 4 yesrs?can’t help thinking we might.be his last.club if he’s constantly unfit
