Not many came out of Sarajevo with pass marks tonight, but Jeremie Frimpong was one of the few. Odsonne Edouard got the goal that secured progression to the Europa League group stages this evening. But despite that, Celtic still struggled to get firing on all cylinders. Building on displays against Riga and Hibernian respectively, Frimpong…
Some of those players need dropped and not too the bench to prove a point, and I don’t mean Broony who again had a great captains game.
Brown actually played well in Sarajevo for me. Totally agree with you there. However, there are definitely some under-performers. I don’t think it’s a lack of trying though. You can see the effort the likes of Christie, McGregor, Taylor put in etc. But there’s something not clicking at the moment and it hasn’t since the start of the season. It’s taking us a little longer to get settled into the 3-5-2 formation also. Some big things for Lennon to iron out I think, and with Rangers just around the corner, we need to find a solution quickly.
David, could it be the 10 for some too much? Or just playing all over instead of their normal positions. They did play great, even in defence with a couple of Ooop’s lol. Do you think we might go four at the back for that game? I hope something clicks and soon.
100% mate.
Lennon’s history suggests that, in tougher games, he’ll switch to a back four. I think you have to take into consideration Rangers’ main threats too. I don’t think we can afford to go with a back three given how they’ll look to exploit us with Tavernier down the right and Barisic/Kent on the left. A back four for me is almost undoubted.
It’ll be interesting to see what he does with the rest of the team though!
As long as Neil tapes up handys hands we should do great with a back 4 that we can use.
