Kyogo Furuhashi is massively enjoying himself at his new club Celtic, much to everyone’s delight. The summer signing had never played outside of Japan before moving to Glasgow, so a period of settling and adjustment on and off the pitch was expected. However, with 13 goals already in all competitions, he has become a hero…
Kyogo is the man. We have a number of bright lights this season, but Kyogo is the brightest. His movement and speed of thought are a joy to watch. He brings others in to play and has proven himself to be a consistent goal threat. The team genuinely looks like it’s gone up a gear whenever he’s on the ball. Hopefully we can retain his service for a few years.
I recall a certain unknown forward who came to us under another relatively unknown manager, who similarly blossomed and was much loved by all of us. He was happy and settled at Celtic and became a legend. Our reward was he stayed for a long time, even when he could have left he stayed. I’m beginning to get the feeling that Kyogo may be made of similar stuff. If he is, he’ll similarly go into Celtic folklore.
