Celtic boss Neil Lennon has dismissed the prospect of the likes of big-hitters Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer leaving, despite them only having 18 months remaining on their contracts. The Parkhead duo have struggled all season as the club’s horrendous run of two wins in 12 have come as a by-product of a lack of…

If the board are intent with keeping current management team we might as well sell and get max transfer fees for Eduoard, Ntcham, Ajer and Christie as 10IAR is not going to happen with NL in charge. That would leave new manager with a big pot of money to spend in summer. Looks like PL has lost his midas touch and DD is ruthless when it comes to business.
I think theres No point in spending money in January with current managerial team David?

I think it’s clear they’re going to stick with him, but I wouldn’t expect Celtic to spend much regardless. Lennon has already hinted as much. I think another winger is a priority. It remains to be seen if Duffy and Ajer can help remove the need for another right-back/centre-back too. But you’re spot on, Lennon’s signing record is dreadful, and especially since he came back to the club for a second spell. That in itself is a massive concern Stephen.

Hi David I would not place blame totally in NR for signings made in his second spell at club. Since Ronnie Dehlia was employed PL has took control of player recruitment and their contracts. PL had his son employed at man city and celtic enjoyed a few successful transfers from city so PL probably assumed he could incorporate CEO with Director of football. That hubristic train of thought comes about by being in control of events for too long in most walks of life. It’s just a shame that PL did not stick to what he is good at …commercial operations.

I think that’s a fair point Stephen mate. Lawwell has his finger far too deep into the football operations and it’s been crippling us for a while. It’s no surprise to me that Brendan Rodgers left when you reflect on that fact.
