Neil Lennon has today stated that some of his Celtic players worryingly told him they were deflated after a Ross County goal at the weekend. The Hoops were knocked out of the Betfred Cup in pathetic fashion after Ross Stewart and Alex Iacovitti provided two blows to the gut at Parkhead. What was even more…

David, I would’ve dropped most of Sundays team and put in benchwarmers and kids. If anyone came to me and said boss we need to give up fighting, I would shoot him NEXT.
Neil needs to look and get rid of the coaching staff if it’s them medics whatever bin them? As I have said it b4 even Broony if he’s saying stuff to the players but I doubt that, then again he was one of the Hibs boys against Collins, even though he denied it. And I love him in the hoops never scared of anyone.

Celtics performances have been lethargic and lacking in quality. They cant defend, create and are now struggling to score. Most previous seasons celtic have always went through a poor run of results during October but this has run on into november(God knows what to expect this month) this season with no light at end of tunnel. This season has been strange all over europe with no spectators and plenty of strange results( man city liverpool juve barca real Madrid etc) in all the leagues but celtics form is worrying as it is no longer a blimp but a downward spiral. I personally believe that many of our foreign players have no idea of NL history at celtic and they dont rate coaching team hence they are not willing to bust a gut for them.

Good evening gents! Thanks for coming on as always!

Looking at what TiMod said I think he makes a great point. If players are going up to Lennon, and I believe this was only at 1-0 to Ross County, and saying “I feel a bit low on confidence gaffer” then that’s a massive concern. So eye-widening for us and probably a bit more serious than Neil made it sound in his pre-match presser. This, for me, also shows that it’s no longer the blip like Lennon made us all believe back in October. As Stephen says, it’s a total downward spiral. Nevermind storm clouds gathering - they gathered weeks ago. Now we’re being struck by an absolute hurricane that’s having a devastating effect on our season. Remember, we’re already out of three competitions and it’s not even Christmas (Champions League, Europa League, Betfred Cup).

I also really like the point Stephen made about the foreign players simply not understanding Lennon’s history at Celtic. Even worse, I just don’t think some of them give a toss. You get the feeling that the likes of Edouard dictates to Lennon when he wants to play, and whilst that’s unsubstantiated and just a bit of speculation on my part, I don’t think there’s a positive relationship there.

Yes, it’s a strange season, but we should be expecting better from a group of players packed with European and international experience. We shouldn’t be so embarassing at Europa League level, and we certainly shouldn’t be making the domestic errors we have done. Lennon was supposed to continue the standards that Rodgers set. Well I’m sorry, but Celtic 0-2 Ross County would never have happened when he was the manager.

We need something big to spur us on. December looks like an opportune month to do just that, but even so I won’t be getting too excited ahead of Ibrox in January regardless.
