It’s not about making Kennedy a ‘scapegoat’, at all. Nothing changed when he took over from Lennon, same ‘old boys’ got picked, same tactical naivety, same defensive catastrophes. He was a given a wonderful chance and he blew it. There was nothing of John Kennedy stamped on any of the teams he put out.
