McCarthy verdict, one player needs dropped; 3 things we learned from Celtic win over Aberdeen

Celtic have managed to pick up a vital three points at home to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon. Goals from Jota and Callum McGregor secured the 2-1 win. It wasn’t exactly a classic at Celtic Park, but in the midst of this busy run any victory is a job well done. After Thursday…

Jota again lights up Paradise, Bertie would.have loved his display today. Kyogo took some batterings in that game, Calmac absolute rock today, defence looked tidy, that was Juranovic’s best game in the Hoops, Abada disappointing but overall a very hard fought and we’ll earned 3 points on Berries day. Interesting Scott Brown has been binned twice now against Celtic. :green_heart::shamrock::ireland:

A good 3 points in the bag, agree about Abada he’s fell short a little after a blistering start, but he should be learning off Forrest and if he does he could become some player.HH

Also need to get Jota signed up permanently.HH

Just want to mention Clancy. A total disgrace. A penalty for no contact whatsoever and no red card for Master Nate’s for punching Kyogo. When will the club make mention of the cheating. Probably never. Wee Fergus would be roasting the SFA for this

McCarthy was much better today, but we still need much more from him as we come up against tougher opponents.

Forrest will return to the starting eleven once Ange feels he’s had enough game time and is ready for a regular 90 minutes. Abada would do well to learn what he can from Jamesy.

3 points is 3 points. If we play how we know we can, more often than not we’ll get 3 points. Attractive and entertaining football is nice and a pleasure to watch, but it’s not a mandatory remit and we would all much rather win ugly than lose attractive.

McCarthy needs the minutes! It’s impossible to properly assess any player on the few minutes he’s had so far this season!
He had a very composed first half and was even better in the second.
Pushing McGregor forward is critical for Celtic.
But in my opinion we still need to pay attention to the fact that we are not making scoring chances nearly as much as our possession would warrant.
For all the threat Aberdeen provided, Hart could have gone off in the first minute when he was injured, and could have been replaced by an outfielder!
Clancy once again was quite embarrassing to himself.
A penalty when he was actually closer to the player who went down than Abada was? Really?
A booking for Johnston when in frustration he threw the ball down?
Who gives these very lopsided referees yellow cards for their continued failings to do their job?
Bottom line, McCarthy was solid, Hart was frozen, Jota was exciting, the ref was embarrassing as always, clearly playing to a plan and under instruction, and we need to make chances!

Clancy is a hun, look at the first glasgow derby, he’s not hiding it anymore, Clancy wears the sash.

James Forrest makes it look so easy out on the right in the middle etc. However, Liel would’ve been better if he was fed the F*****G ball. Every time the ball went left, left, and left again Abada stood waiting for the pass. The player marking Liel was over on his right stopping Jotta, and passing to CalMac.

Talk about feeding the ball i feel so sorry for Kyogo today.
if other players had either opened there eyes or mouths it should have been another hat trick for him today. 1- a header stolen of his head by Welsh 2. a square ball from Jota when he hit the post instead, 3- a tap in if Abada squares to him when we got the fluke goal.
Players are not hitting his feet quickly enough instead going wide then crossing and finding Kyogo being clobbered constantly. Kyogo works tirelessly but his touch and movement is being under used at the moment.
