Originally published at: Johnston verdict, Andy Walker stunned; 3 things we learned from Celtic win
Before Celtic kicked off against Dundee United at noon, there was understandable trepidation. The Bhoys, after all, were spread thin. Some key players, not least Jota and Anthony Ralston, would miss this one. Dundee United, meanwhile, had beaten Rangers at home this season, and Thomas Courts’ side had taken a point from Celtic at Parkhead.…
Can’t really disagree with anything your article says…and i prefer to focus more on our game. However, Butcher absolutely has to be hauled over the coals for that shocking assault on Turnbull, but what bugged me more than anything today was the pathetic, utterly embarrassing songs from our fans. I cringed throughout that game and actually felt ashamed.
They make me sick.
Sad to say I don’t think Mikey Johnston has what it takes to play for Celtic, he has great feet and skill but his decision making and final pass is not there. He has a bad habit of constantly doing the wrong thing, looks similar to Gary Mackay Steven, has the talent but not the head or confidence to deal with playing for Celtic
Butcher nearly halfs Turnbull in 2 and stays on the park with a yellow card, sad but not surprised. Also Liam Scales what a way to introduce yourself, I’m delighted for him. Result was never in doubt once Rogic scored .
We’ve only had a few glimpses of Scales, but he shows real promise. That was a very skilled strike, albeit a deflection.
As for Mikey, a few more 90 mins and he will be great. Only a matter of time before he scores,
Always said on this page that Scales would be a good addition just needs game time, another 3 points on the road mon the sellick.HH
I was not a believer we were under strength today apart from Jota but i have also mentioned here we have not provided Kyogo with enough forward passes tending to play lots wide to Jota in recent weeks. Today we were balanced moved the ball forward quicker all over the park and created so many chances and were a joy to watch. The full backs played how Ange wants Centre backs Solid and Rogic and Cal just superb with Kyogo a constant menace.
Scales did well too only Forrest decision making was poor today but with Abada at least we have an able replacement. Progress being made weekly in all areas,
i hope we do go to Japan for recruitment as the Honesty work Ethnic and Attitude is what we need and is a breath of fresh air from selfish french thinking players.
That’s a potential career ending tackle.
G’day from Oz,
Take it from antipodean football fans familiar with Ange:
The best is yet to come.
Would love to see Hamish do a fresh interview with (Sydney Morning Herald journalist) Vince Rugari to offer more insight into where the process (trust it) is at.
Cheers

A straight red all day long, potentially season or even career ending thuggery
Hail Hail
Fully agree with you dancing about with no final pass Id love to know if any of his crosses found a celtic player
