Tonight saw Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou go absolutely wild with his team selection against Real Betis. Former Sheffield Wednesday duo Osaze Urhoghide and Liam Shaw featured. Liam Scales got a start after his star cameo role against Dundee United. Albian Ajeti, so effective against Betis in the first game, led the line with Adam Montgomery…
Ffs Kyogo should never have been on now we have no chance of F**k all.
Nir Biton that was arguably his best performance in the Hoops, urhogide was superb, Kyogo should never have been risked, Bain is a bombscare, Johnstone should have scored a fourth, what a night that was
Why are we getting so many injuries with pulled and strained muscles mostly all players going off with an injury that is related to hamstrings
Ange’s biggest mistake so far was playing Kyogo. No fit strikers at a club our size is a total disgrace. Not looking good for the next few weeks.
Seen it in a few squads over the years. Newcastle a while ago sticks in the mind. Teams who are trained hard and play a high press. Some players just don’t handle the long terms strain, and Kyogo is the most tireless worker of the lot. He wouldn’t have played if he didn’t have to. I think there will be more similar injuries in future. Depth of squad is unbelievably important now.
i cant believe how Mickey Johnston continues to play like a school boy. Forget the injuries or bad luck. when he came on tonight he was pathetic defensively for the first goal and gave the ball away at the second.
He has been guilty of this in big games in the past and its time somebody was blunt with him and tell him he cant be trusted.
Scales did well as did Urhoghide and Welsh while Bitton did lead the side well but still had his usual defencive giveaway which nearly cost a goal. i think tonight added Sorro to the list of Barkas Bolingboli Anjti (injured again) who should be shifted out at Xmas.
I thought Shaw looked good too.
I can see Soro going out on loan but probably not a sale until the summer. We’re already thin at the CM position.
Kyogos injury could just as easily happened in one of our intense training sessions, any day of the week.
Utter nonsense to criticise the manager for playing a fit player.
Completely agree, players pull up lame at the most random of times, Rio Ferdinand hurt himself playing PlayStation ffs. Unfortunately sh1t happens sometimes & with us it’s always an inopportune time, especially with the thinnest squad we’ve had in decades.
The players who are all out with hamstring injuries are exciting players who can explode and change pace or direction quickly so there is always a risk of hamstrings even the huns lost there only explosive player (kent) to a hamstring injury this season.
Nonsense to blame Managers style of play or training intensity. Its the price of entertainment that’s why he needs a squad to share work load over so many games.
There was not much chance of guys like EDDIE or NTCHAM getting these injuries last season playing half heartedly.
Odsonne Edouard did get injured last season.
Great comments fully agree about eddie and Ntcham. I was delighted to see fast running off the ball and genuine desire. Been missing too long, not only in Celtic but in general at last fring players took the chance to shine
Eaun was it a hamstring injury ? this is a player wo got fatigue at 21 and needed a rest and missed a european tie claiming to be tired . LAZY lUMP last season.
Are we really still doing this?
Odsonne Edouard was objectively one of the most impactful players we’ve had in years. He was our top scorer last season, and he got fatigue from long Covid. Effort doesn’t necessarily equal hamstring injuries.
Really don’t get the vendetta against Edouard, even now. There were plenty of bad performers last season, Edouard was far from the worst.
Euan sorry but this guy cost us 9 million pounds and to be top scorer last season was no great achievement and usually every season since i have watched Celtic in over 60 years our striker has ended up our top scorer. i have no vendetta against ED but you are blinkered if you believe he gave 100% or did not play for himself last season where he was Lazy and selfish in some matches running into trouble aimlessly.
You will always be top scorer in a team who played one up front and you take penalties.
Having played professional football and holding a sports science degree and working in the fitness industry for 25 years i certainly don’t need you telling me how injuries occur.
You are entitled to disagree but im glad to see the back of players who don’t want to be here and its a breath of fresh air to see the current team working for each other and playing for the jersey. On the top scorer issue i saw Joe McBride a brilliant finisher end up the clubs top scorer not playing after xmas the season we won the European cup.
Robertson at Crewe would fit in perfectly
