One of the major solutions to the current health epidemic with regards to football is to potentially play behind closed doors. It’s something that’s widely been thrown up on social media and, with Scottish football currently shutdown, would perhaps be a sensible way to go about things in many fans’ minds and indeed other football…

I’m at work every day just like most of the population. If football players want to stay at home then let them. If I stayed at home I would not get paid. If the public relied on me being at work to fulfil my contract to them then I would be there. My verdict is that there is only one way to go and that is to play behind closed doors. The current risk to players is minimal. They are especially stronger than most of the population and could easily deal with any forthcoming virus. If any of us are to get the virus what is the difference between now, April, June or July?

Football matches were suspended ONLY due to the discouraging of people getting involved in mass gatherings. There was no other reason.
