There is some really interesting news coming out of Turkey this morning, with Haber Turk and Sporx reporting that Celtic have agreed a fee for Trabzonspor attacker Caleb Ekuban. Haber Turk, one of the most popular Turkish news outlets, believes that the Hoops have agreed an €8million (£7.2m) fee with the Turkish club plus bonuses.…
Wow 10 goals all season? Please tell me there season was for only five games before shut down David.
I would love to mate! Unfortunately this was over the course of 31 games.
However, I wouldn’t be too concerned about it. Turkish media have a habit of over-egging deals, and I cannot see Celtic completing this deal for such a high price.
Theres an argument to say Ekuban could come in as a 10 or even a right-winger, but I think his pedigree is poor for a 26 year old.
I can also tell you alternative sources have dismissed this report this afternoon, with senior journalists in Turkey claiming there is no discussions between the clubs and that the player is happy where he is.
So it looks like this wont be a goer in any case. The priority for me is a new left-back and right-winger to start off.
Totally agree, on both left and right positions but Hickey? nah should be one of our own if one is available. Yes he’s done not too bad at Hearts, but so young 18. Never gonna be fantastic unless he’s gotten at least another foot taller and some body building since last game against us. Wee Dembele left him for dead even after getting fouled by him.
