Report: Celtic dressing room is split, many "deeply frustrated"

The Celtic dressing room is divided, according to reports in The Athletic. Neil Lennon already had a difficult job. The Bhoys boss already has a 19-point gap to contend with at the top of the Scottish Premiership (BBC). There are multiple players linked with transfers or soon to be out of contract. Now it appears…

What a load of absolute nonsense. This is clearly written just because you had to write about something to fill copy. How can you ever expect anyone to take your writing seriously when you continually keep serving up drivel like this? Please, if you have no actual news just don’t write anything because it’s giving this blog space a really bad reputation. I can count on my one finger how many decent blog writers there are on here…the rest are just writing clickbait pish!!! Stop it.

Appreciate the feedback. However, would disagree this is not newsworthy. The Athletic is a respected and well-connected Celtic source, having carried exclusives from Dermot Desmond and others over the last 12 months. We don’t regularly cite their content but given the content of Kieran Devlin’s latest report, it’s worth talking about in our opinion.

Im always suspicious of journalists quoting "sources" and "sources close to" etc etc especially when theyre half truth and half fiction eg players are "disappointed* “frustrated” etc. Of course they are! Who are the “sources”? A friend of a friend of a friend?. I guess there`s not much news about just now.

Remember Kris Boyd’s dressing room split news a couple years ago. Think we won the treble that year. And the next. Hardly surprising that some players are devastated and some not. Each handles in their own way. Not really anything that concerns me here because you’d expect these reactions after a season like this. Move on, win games. Next subject, please.

Yeah, I doubt this is going to be a massive story that drags on. It’s just an interesting insight into what the players are thinking. I’d honestly suggest The Athletic are pretty well placed to say. We wouldn’t have discussed it otherwise.

We’d have also discussed it had the report been “everything in the Celtic dressing room is great”.

But why? It’s a non-story designed purely to fill space. It’s clickbait pish!!! The more stories you keep doing like this, the less likely anyone will be to read your stuff…except maybe the odd hun. It’s just plain lazy. Quoting other people’s “stories” isn’t how you should operate a blog space if you want it to be successful. It’s rank amateur in the extreme. Get a grip and go find some real news. If there isn’t anything to tell, then just don’t say anything. It smacks of desperation.

I disagree it’s a non-story. We present lots of stories from lots of different sources and write opinion on it, as well as writing original stories ourselves. I’m sorry you think it’s clickbait, it’s not our intention. I don’t think the headline on this is misleading.

It’s clickbait because of the way you’ve sensationalised it, then used quotes which imply it’s been said by someone within the dressing room. Listen John I’ve been marketing for more than 3 decades please don’t try and piss up my back and tell me it’s raining!
It’s a non-story. You’re dealing with about 25 individuals all with their own thoughts and feelings within a dressing room…OF COURSE they’re going to all feel differently…but that doesn’t denote a split dressing room!!!
So you can disagree all you like, but you’d still be wrong.

PS - As for Kieran Devlin’s “sources”… I have much better sources within Celtic FC than him, who are right at the heart of the dressing room, and all Devlin is giving you is total conjecture, nothing more. He is giving you an opinion from someone who works at the club and who obviously has no clue about the current dressing room, because “split” is the very last thing they are.

PPS - Andy Walker does not count as a source. There’s a wee exclusive for you.

I take your points Stookie, so thanks for leaving comments anyway. We are not trying to wind anyone up. We won’t always get it right in everyone’s eyes.

I understand you’re not trying to wind anyone up John. Look I get that you’re trying to keep a steady flow of articles coming out to encourage a habitual readership. But the people contributing need to stop being lazy with their writing, as it really is turning people off. I’m not asking for exclusives every week, but If the contributors best efforts are either plagiarism, or nothing more than an opinion based entry on another article, then that’s where an editor needs to step in and “encourage” them to up their game, or else get some new writers in who can.
Best Regards
Mark

John, HH has been a breath of fresh air in the Celtic blogosphere. It’s the first place I go to for news because it’s pretty balanced and doesn’t react to every Celtic rumor out there. The blog is well laid out and readable, unlike the sloppy Celticblog and videocelts sites.

I also like how you handled the feedback today. Keep on doing what you are doing and thanks to you and your team for HH.

Just an afterthought. What do you mean by “split” in this context?

You dont need sources from within the club to tell there is something amiss in the changing room. Too many players are not playing to their potential, standards have fallen and results against teams who fall into the elite clubs list that we aspire to be part of(european teams and rangers) have been awful. This regression has been over a period of two years so there is a problem in the changing room. No point in fans denying this and the problem needs addressed asap or risk losing out on second CL place.
