Celtic talks to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis are at an ‘advanced’ stage, American outlet SBI Soccer has reported today. USA-based journalist Larry Henry Jr has always been at the forefront of reporting around Carter-Vickers and Celtic. Indeed, he was consistent in his belief that Celtic were in the race to sign him…

CCV was the one I really wanted signed and he was albeit on loan. I think he’s improved the defence & team immeasurably since arriving. Now my wish is to make it permanent. Get it done Celtic.

I think this deal will be signed pre contract before the end of the Season.
The Jota deal worries me more given he was at Anfield for the Benfica game.
He’s a Benfica fan so any possibility he can make it at his boyhood Club would surely be a stronger pull than playing in the SPFL?
Obviously it comes down to whether Benfica rate him highly enough for the long term.
Champions League participation however can be a strong lure for players who have experienced being on the fringes, not getting game time at their parent Clubs as it proved with Fraser Forster when at Newcastle.
Its the biggest shop window in Football as their Agents will be all too fully aware of.
I hope both sign obviously :pray:t3:

I get what you are saying, however looking at his history at Benfica I’m quietly confident that even if we don’t get a permanent deal this time around, if we can offer him (and Benfica, to further assess him) CL football he’ll return on loan again. The thing I can’t quite understand is that I thought both Jota and CCV were on loan with an agreement to buy… that doesn’t seem to be the case now. What has changed ?

I’m pretty sure we still have an option to buy both players, but that relies on the players wanting to sign for us on a permanent basis. We have a option to buy with their respective clubs, not with the players. Let’s hope that both players have felt the love of the fans and that we smash our next two games to get the league sewn up as quickly as possible. :green_heart::green_heart::green_heart:
