West Ham United had the chance to buy Odsonne Edouard this summer, but turned the Frenchman down, according to the Daily Express. IF he decides to stay & run down his contract & IF he manages to hit his stride, which will obviously be beneficial for him signing somewhere else on a free, it won’t be the worst thing in the world. IF it helps us win the league & get automatic CL group stage entry it’ll offset any fee we get for him if we were to sell him now.
I’d back us to win the league without him but if he does decide to stick around & ends up banging in a bunch of goals it could be very beneficial.
I kind of feel sorry for Eduard. He strikes me as a person who is caught between what might be and
reality. Disappointment comes to mind in the lack of interest in him from outside. As a result it seems to me his head is not in the right place. It’s as if he’s just going through the motions at times. Once the transfer window ends I think he’ll come good.
Playing Kyogo and Eddy together usually involves Kyogo playing on the left where he is at his quietest . Eddy has started trying a bit, but too little too late. He start by sacking his agent or whoever is advising him pronto.
I think he has recently changed management, I think that has been positive, he seems to have bucked his ideas up around the same time.
His change in attitude is down to AP.
We need a team who have made a poor league start to take a punt on him. Given his erratic performances that’s what it will be.
Otherwise he will be in contract run down mode. He might be focused but we get no financial sale benefit.
If he’s staying (hopefully not) then we need him to sign a new contract.
