Not sure about you, but I was dead nervous before Celtic kicked off against FK Jablonec. It’s not because I don’t believe in these players, nor our manager Ange Postecoglou. If anything, I think this squad, under the Greek-Aussie’s influence, will become an attacking force we could come to remember for decades. But before that,…
Let alone a right-back, that we’ve needed since Jeremie Frimpong left. In fact, many would argue we needed another quality option before. I agree with the latter matey.
3 good points observed from the game.
Think Abada is a real hungry player who can bring us a lot of goals this season. For his age, he does so much intelligent work following in behind the striker, he will reap the rewards.
As for the defence, could be a long season unless there’s an overhaul which can start clicking really quickly. The inverted fullbacks seems to expose the centre backs and keeper if teams can play the right break away balls. Having guys like Bitton and Ralston playing in our defence right now is not helping our goals against stats.
If we are to stay with these tactics then very pacey defenders will be needed. The defence right now will be picking up last man red cards all season if we don’t get better quality in
Appreciate you saying, thank you!
i don’t think Abada should be played as a winger he would score more goals playing more inside and if you look at his collection of goals in Israel he was more central on the pitch. I understand he is given us width at the moment but when teams start to double up on him they will nullify his threat. With a target man striker both he and Fush would cause more problems with their movement off a striker
I think also the new centre back Star is a right sided defender who needs a balanced lefty beside him or even a three with julien central with him to the right.
At the moment he cant form a partnership with 3 players who should not be in the team they have all had a chance and failed.
It has Certainly shown his flaw of tackling off balance and getting caught wrong footed.
i do hope wee Gavin will notice this on his Laptop or big john will ask Brendan or Lenny what he should do to improve him.
I think with 1 permanent cb signing and maybe a loan signing, we could play the 3 at the back and we avoid using Taylor and ralston at lb rb, we could go more attacking with our selection and play 2 wingers with Soro or Mccarthy as our cdm, there’s potential to do alot with our side as long as we get the right people in, shouldn’t have taken this long though
Agree we cant become predictable and let Rangers and Aberdeen dominate and bully us i still think both McCann and McGrath would be better players than Sorro
