There’s no point shying away from it, that was a very disappointing night at Celtic Park vs Bodo/Glimt. It’d be easy for me to say this competition doesn’t matter and that Celtic shouldn’t be taking it seriously anyway. But I don’t believe that. I actually think tonight was a huge opportunity for Celtic to make…

In all honesty, some may see as harsh, I feel we could be doing without European football (currently competing at the extreme toenails of European competition).

We are now in pole position in the league, it’s ours now to lose. Sick of seeing us come back from away Euro trips and dropping basic points in the league.

Let’s forget Europe, knuckle down and bring home our league title as a minimum (+£30 million and Champions League football next year) :four_leaf_clover:

I have to agree with you. I didn’t expect anything from this season apart from stabilisation of the club. To have a trophy already in the cupboard and to be top of the League is beyond my hopes and expectations. Like all fan’s probably the success to date has now raised my hope that we can win the SPFL. For me that’s where the focus must be now. The ECL simply doesn’t figure.
Win the League continue to drill the team in Angeball and be ready to go in the CL are my priorities now.

Hail Hail.

Celtic have came a long way in the last 7 months, yes it’s only seven months! They need to secure the league and hopefully Scottish cup and kick on to better things.

Interesting article John. For sure Ange got it wrong . In Europe things are different, They are all good sides. You just can’t play at European level without a defensive midfielder in the team. Bitton or McCarthy should have been in. The way we play, our wide men cause most of the damage. They take on and beat a player causing the opposition defense to try and re adjust leaving gaps for us to exploit. Our wide men last night were not good enough against a very good team. James Forrest might be a better bet next time. Their third goal was lucky but we were also asleep. There is no doubt in my mind that we can beat them in Norway. If it goes to penalties though we will be in trouble. We are a good team and were up against a very good team. All is not lost. Hail

These result are good for our board as they show where we need to improve and invest which they don’t like to do. Ange has come in and worked wonders on his budget and gave us some exciting players,
This team Bodo had weeks to study us and hurt us where we are weak they had time to set a game plan which would stop us hurting them from wide but also they damage us by attacking us from our weakest areas.
i have no doubt we could go there and win next week but would that hinder our chances of winning the League .
This result only shows what Ange knows we are work in progress i just hope he gets the backing from the board to bring in what is required to strengthen the side.
Strength being a key word here .A left sided commanding centre back and left back, and a target man striker who the others can feed off.
We have some quality players brought in at bargain prices lets find a few defenders now and i agree a back room team is required of hi own choice too.

Ange should think of switching Juranovic to the left for the return game. The big guy Solanbeck was going past Taylor like he wasn’t there. To be fair to Taylor he would do that to most defenders, Celtic should ask Glimt how much they want for that lad. Ralston can come in at right back. The would give us more ability in the air. The only thing they didn’t do to us last night was test us at set pieces, but they are full of big guys, so we might have that to look forward to in the return leg.

There needs to be a holding midfielder beside McGregor in Norway. The third goal was a shocker, there was nobody even close to the guy who got off his shot.

Maeda took his goal well but I was a bit puzzled by his performance. A lot of the time when we were in a position to cross, he just seemed to be drifting behind his defender. He wasn’t checking his run and peeling away from the defender like Kyogo would have. Maybe we just don’t understand how he operates yet, but he didn’t seem to be giving the crosser anything to aim at. As Abada is our most potent goal threat at the moment, maybe he should play centre and Maeda wide left. We certainly seemed to give them more problems when we went with two up front.

Playing for pride in the return leg and just try to make sure we don’t get a hiding, this lot are good enough to dish out one if we’re not careful.
