Raith Rovers chairman Bill Clark has warned that at least half a dozen Scottish clubs are facing the prospect of entering administration within months if there’s no ticket income, Sky News report. As we know, Scottish football is facing an unprecedented crisis due to ongoing public health concerns, as is almost every facet of society…
Scared of this situation, I hope I’m wrong , but can’t see how any games at all will go ahead until vaccinations are being carried out. It’s an abnormal decision to make , so there is not any outcome that fits anyone’s desires. If there is any way possible we can vaccinate all the people needed to get the stadiums running , then we are in with a chance. The scientists reckon they’re testing , with my whole heart I hope it works. If there’s any games taking place soon , maybe September, and someone gets infected ,the game is well and truly over. It’s gone.
There is no doubt there is a day of reckoning for Scottish football on its way, but it is not unique. Football across the globe is struggling along with many other forms of entertainment. To survive it will have to be creative, adaptable and willing to find new solutions…so yes things look bleak! At least we can be glad our club is as prepared as it can be and if any club survives it will be us. Who knows what happens after might be better that what we had before!
