Undoubtedly, there will be Celtic players breathing a sigh of relief now the transfer window has shut. As midnight struck, the Hoops could look back on a job (relatively) well done. Some fan favourites, promising young talents and international players with great pedigrees have arrived. Meanwhile, some much-needed departures, as well as some sad losses,…
A fair assessment Euan. With 2 strikers gone Ajeti needs to produce now. I always have hope…additional cover for Taylor would’ve been good but hopefully Scales can do that if Bolingoli can’t step up. I’d have liked Marshall as back up for Hart but Barkas will have to do. Not a bad window, question is, is it enough? I’ve no doubt the new guys can produce at CP but a cold winters night at Dundee needs the right mindset. I have moved from thinking we had no hope this year because of the delay in the managerial appointment to us now having a fighting chance. Time will tell.PS - I’d be delighted for Connell to come good.
I feel like ajeti will come good during the system if given the chances too, he does peel off his man whilst we attack but I’ve never seen a player feed him through, it’s as if they don’t trust him to keep the ball or get his shot away. The guy can score but I want the rest of the team to trust him more with being able to show it, the more of the ball you get then the better he can affect the game, even if his back is to goal often, use him and make him the link up man.
Boli still has a chance for me, he needs to graft and show that he cares for the club, if he can improve defensively then he should be first choice because he has more pace and power than Taylor but his defending let’s him down. What talyor doesn’t have in ability he has in effort and relentless running up and down, the guy tries, maybe ange just wants to see Boli try like that in training so he can feel confident in giving him a try. Monty seems to be really grafting and fair play to the lad but if taylor is still nursing that shoulder injury after international break I’d give Boli a chance in the team just to see what level he is at, if he’s not up for it then bring Monty on and go from there. I hope Connell gets some chances during the season, he’s a real talent and I’m also a Bolton fan so I’ve seen it first hand, got a great eye for a pass and with Mcgregor to learn from he could easily be improving and getting valuable advise from our captain, give him a chance and rotate the 3 midfielders more, the intensity that we play at these cms are going to need the rest time more

Just what the is hype around Luca Connell all about? What is the justification for it? Serious question because I don’t have a clue what it’s all about. 4 assists and a goal with Queens Park plus a load of hype is all I can see at the moment.
He’s very level headed midfielder for his age, very confident on the ball, very rarely loses possession and with the way ange plays his passing and awareness would be great to utilise against the smaller clubs, build him up to play more often and then pushing to start games in the future, when he started playing for Bolton we didn’t have many options but but he was getting to the point were he was the first name on the team sheet
Great to read some positivity about these 3 for a change Just a shame there are those fans that want yet another central midfielder and couldn’t care less if it ruins any future at Celtic for Luca Connell.
