After 7 months, the Celtic board sacked John Barnes in 2000. Tony Mowbray lasted until the March of his maiden season before getting the boot (BBC). Tommy Burns? Sacked. Lou Macari? Sacked. Some bizarre level of loyalty as he came in when Brenda spat the dummy out. Neil was on a hiding to nothing so deserves big credit for that. In truth had Brenda stated to the end of that season then Neil would never have been back. We despondent a change…

Should’ve been STAYED and DESPERATE… apologies
I thought Lennon got the credit he deserved after guiding us to 8. I don’t really buy into the “he rode off the success off Rodgers”. Nobody pretended Lennon had managed the full campaign through, and remember, there were plenty of difficult games to negotiate before the title was won that season. He then again got the credit he deserved for last season.
This year? A total disaster and in the year of his main remit which will have been to win the 10. The scale of the decline has been so sharp and we can all see a change is needed. Lennon has been given the credit he deserved for his previous success and was rewarded with the opportunity to become immortal with the 10. However, his reluctance to admit he isn’t the right man at key times in the season has cost us any chance we had of retrieving it.
