The key detail of Gerrard departure to Aston Villa that should thrill Celtic supporters

As you’ll know by now, Steven Gerrard has left Celtic title rivals Rangers to join Aston Villa as their new manager. A week is a long time in Scottish football. Most people were expecting a quiet international break, but it has been anything but. As soon as Dean Smith left his Villa position at the…

Gerrard bailing at the first opportunity speaks volumes. Let’s be honest, in order to try to appease fans, probably among the worst fans in europe, anyone can spout the untrue nonsense about “55” etc, but deep down he knows this is simply not true, or even remotely possible.
The club he just walked out on, or more accurately, ran as fast as he could from, were founded in 2012 which makes their title win last season the first in the club’s history.
Everyone knows this, even though many refuse to admit or accept it!
These stubborn disillusioned people are no different to the band of American thugs who try to convince themselves that Donald Trump really won the US election last year!
They are so far removed from reality it’s embarrassing!
But while I see some similarities here to what Rodgers did to us, at least Gerrard moved UP to a far bigger club than he was at whereas Rodgers took a massive step DOWN to manage a little club. But both jumped at the first opportunity.
We should note that Chris Sutton said BEFORE the Villa job came up that Gerrard would not turn a job offer from Villa down.
I thought he was talking through his butt! It turns out he was spot on though.
Remember, like Rodgers, this is the first club that came calling! No matter how you cut it, or the disillusioned try to convince themselves, these two managers were just waiting for any offer to get out!
Gerrard may find it very different this time though. Fewer “honest mistakes” means he’s going to have to earn every point, something he was not used to in Glasgow.

One huge bit of pulling power for a new manager to the new club, is that they come in with the knowledge that “honest mistakes” guarantees them a minimum of ten to fifteen points per season.
This takes a load of pressure off any incoming manager.
Interesting times ahead.

Maybe you’re the brainwashed stubborn disillusioned dumbass that gets sucked in by the propaganda media , they love a band of gullible idiots thugs like you .
Don’t comment on American politics you know nothing about ! Court cases are continuing & are slowly getting proven for the biggest Corrupted coverup scam election in American history.
Thousands of dead people managed to obtain a ballot and vote !! …Amazing that is :joy: Thousands of ballots for the Corrupt Biden turned up in the middle of the night after poll watchers left ! all caught on camera ! Ballots being run through 4 - 5 times for Biden , Ballots for Trump shredded , some machine’s rigged to count a Biden vote when Trump was listed & mysteriously these China run ballot machines got destroyed ! Just a fraction of examples of election fraud , the list is endless & amasses to hundreds of thousands which would have been a landslide Victory for Trump ! TRUMP WON !! not that illegitimate embarrassing corrupt dumbocrat residing in the White House .
So maybe you are the one that is so far removed from reality its Embarrassing!! easily manipulated & brainwashed from Dumbocrat run propaganda media that are just FAKE NEWS !! coverup & sweep all things Democrat under the rug , Lie & Fabricate all things Republican.
Leave politics out of football Gullible!! :joy:

Practice what ye preach m8t. I see nothing in your comment about Celtic, or football for that matter. HH

To be fair Callum Davidson might feel a wee bit hard done by not getting a looking at the Villa job?

Scotland’s most successful manager last season should have been in there with a shout rather than the one trophy wonder

Doesn’t matter which world beater our Glasgow rivals appoint. We just have to keep our heads down and get on with our own business :four_leaf_clover:

He was commenting on a ridiculous non football analogy about US politics from another poster.

Your point is mate??? HH

Gerard like Rogers left because they had success in Scotland. Failure leaves them damaged goods in the eyes of the English press and fans. Finance is another reason both left they wanted large sums to buy players that celtic WOULD not spend and rangers COULD NOT spend. If rumours are right how can the rangers afford to employ Van Bronkhorst and finance his transfers when they lost mega millions last year and need 10 mill plus to pay their bills this year. Liquidation on the horizon again !!!
