Celtic slumped to defeat at Ibrox in what was a miserable afternoon for the football club. The Hoops dominated the first half and should’ve been one or two goals in front. Only profligate finishing from Odsonne Edouard and wastefulness in the final third cost us badly. However, it was in the second half that Ange…
Think we were reasonable today but Edouard and Turnbull should not have started.
Barring their spawny goal, I thought our defence done well on their first game all together.
We need a guilt edge striker in the next few days. Things could have been a whole lot better if we had someone up front who is actually interested in the game
Annoying thing is we could have won. They score from a set piece from one of their monster central defenders. Our central guys are diminutive in comparison.
Edouards miss sums him up.
Let’s get the remaining transfers done ( including the guy in the 22 shirt) and move on.
There is a long way to go and AP is only weeks in the door….HH
Hopefully that might be the last game for the great enigma that is Edouard as this lazy player needs to be replaced as soon as possible.
Kyogo showed how to strip there defence 3 times in 15 minutes when he was put through the middle as he was wasted out wide today.
Cant believe Christie was screaming at him for not squaring the ball after the way he blasted one over the bar in the first half when it should have been cut back to Kyogo.
in fact that moan made kyogo square the next chance when he could have shot.
i hope Euan will now see what i mean by Lazy and Static when you compare Kyogo and Edouard at finding space in the box.
Lost the same way as all last season today set play and same players not turning up Christie and Edouard in an attacking end product.
The new full back did really well playing out of position and lets hope that PENNY PINCHING board will get the finger out this week and add to the squad as players were clearly tired after the midweek match.
So we’re back to its the managers fault again ffs change the record
Main problem is that certain players just don’t deliver in these games - Eddie, Turnbull and Ryan Christie. Funny that two of them are hoping to get a move to EPL and one has a strong chance of replacing McGinn in Scotland 's upcoming games so you’d think they’d all be at their best yet they were at their worst. And again rangers neutralized the wingers yet again. This needs to be seriously addressed.
We had a class striker kyogo
Just no his day
Get Édouard sold Fu+king sick of that lazy cu*t
I have to say Dixie Dixie your description of the game is right on the money. Our defence was strong and no one could’ve done anything about that goal unless they were 7ft tall. Hart actually got a hand to it amazingly enough. Ange is working on his system which still a work in progress. Also fitness is still not as he would like. The Eddie Howe saga has caused so much damage unfortunately and meanwhile the team will have its up and downs. But I saw a great game which could’ve gone either way.
A special mention to:
Starfelt who played really well I thought.
Juranovic! What a gun! His position in the team is cemented.
And a side note.
Did anyone notice what a great job the Referee did?
Ok Pep! We’re hardly ones to be teaching Ange lessons.
Calm down its a one nothing result at ibrox in a game that could have went either way, last season I would have been 5. We just have to be patient and it will all come together and we’ll be back to kuffing them 3 and 4 nowt!! Hail Hail
Generally speaking the game just confirmed what we already knew. Sevco have a very decent team now. All their players are good athletes and well coached. They go man-for-man with Celtic and the receiver of the ball is given no time. They force their opponents to play in tight corners, getting two or three players around them and challenging them to produce something special to spring the trap. They press high up, eventually forcing the keeper into lobbing it. Then they easily deal with the high ball. It is a well thought-out system. Rogers in his latter days couldn’t figure out how to beat it and maybe even ran away from it. Quite simply if we want to beat this lot with pass-and-move football, we are going to have to pass and move a lot better. Ange has now seen for himself that games against them will be a real test of his coaching abilities.
It was a huge mistake to start with Edouard through the middle. The instant Kyogo was brought into the centre we became more dangerous but too late.
Also everything was going down the left and Balogen, a good defender, was just eating it up. We didn’t use Abada at all, although he wasn’t helping himself much. He was glued to the touchline. I think he will be great, but he needs to move his defender around much more than he did today, make angles for a pass, risk getting into offside positions sometimes, give them something to think about.
The midfield was totally stifled until Soro and Montgomery came on. Can’t understand why Soro seems to be slipping down the pecking order again. He stemmed the flow and was prepared to run at them and look for a forward pass. I’m a big fan of Turnbull but Soro looked much more able to cope with this kind of game. Montgomery also gave us more running, he lost the ball a few times but then Christie had been losing it all the time. He will hopefully get a chance to challenge Christie for that advanced role on the left.
Edouard just needs to go. I hope he can recover his form somewhere else and have a good career but he clearly needs the challenge of a move. He’s gone at Celtic.
After all the headlines about our sparkling football it was the defence that was great today, maybe saving us from a heavier defeat. Ralston was immense again. Juranovic looks a great signing. Welsh was sound and Starfelt was fantastic. That needs to be recognised after the stick he has taken and possibly the best thing to take out of today. He was our number one man and showed he’s got the stuff.
Agree on your defensive comments. I like Welsh and think Starfelt can become a decent signing. The only issue I’ve got in this area is that neither are massive or indeed that tall for the position. Either paired with a fit Julien would do the trick I think.
Edouard out, he doesn’t care anynore he was garbage today, get him out
Hated how Morelos pushed his weight around a couple of times. It would’ve been worth it to see him get decked. Dirty freeking poser. He drops to the ground at the slightest touch like a tub of lard that he is. He couldn’t run anymore near the end. He was found out.
Get that lazy so and so oot the door asap Odsonne Edouard take Christie with him, this zonal marking doesn’t work defence still leaking soft goals get Kennedy oot aswell also who signed Starfelt better with bumfelt
ange needs to come up with a backup plan
I totally agree with these comments
Patience is needed here . Ange knows what he’s doing. People back in Oz we’re just as panicky at his system because they didn’t get it. Suddenly it bared fruit. He won the Asian Cup then followed it up with qualification to the world cup.
Relax! He’s knows how to pluck this chook.
The board and Kennedy pick the team Ange has no say in the matter the defence is rotten zonal marking rubbish 2 players want a move and r not trying shove em oot the door NOW
Very easy to criticise in hindsight!
