There is a lot of speculation regarding Kieran Tierney returning to Celtic.
My heart says bring him back, but my mind says no.
My mind expresses a no, solely due to his tendency to sustain injuries.
His playing time at Arsenal has been very limited due to time out through injuries.
For me, it’s a big problem.
I know that we loved him when he was here, and he loves Celtic, but is that enough of a reason to bring him back?
Do we really need an injury prone player back at Celtic?
Would love to hear your thoughts on the matter?
I think, maybe super speculative, that we should try to loan him back in January and give him a chance of half a season with us?
Don’t know what the situation with Valle is in that is he signed on with us for the season or going back in January?
If Valle goes back, surely the best option would be then to try to get Tierney back with option to offer him a contract when he becomes a Bosman in the summer. That way both sides (Celtic and Tierney) can test the waters to see if a contract offer, within our means, is worth pursuing.
I think he would bolster our squad if he came back and it may even help strengthen Greg Taylor’s game.
I think if he did want to come back to Celtic, which is very much in doubt considering the drop in salary he would have to accept. The best option if he did want to return, in my opinion would be a year-long rolling contract to see if he can last out the year without sustaining any injuries.
But on saying all that, the option if it did arise to bring him in on loan in January for the rest of the season would be a no-brainer.
Providing his salary can be sorted out with Arsenal.
Celtic can’t and won’t pay his full salary, as It’s way above Celtic’s bracket. But if they can agree with Arsenal to pay part of his salary, then yes, I would love to see him don the Celtic top again.
