This shouldn't have crept up on the board

The malaise that has surrounded the board’s inactivity in the past 2 years is staggering.

I’m not paid to carry out analysis and dig into the reasons things have gone tits up at CP but, there are guys being paid hundreds of thousands a year, and in at least a couple of cases millions, to do exactly that.

When we returned from the winter break last season (after we’d been humiliated by that lot on our own patch somehow learning nothing from our BetFred Cup slaughtering the month before that we managed to steal from the zombies,) we didn’t exactly rip teams apart that we weren’t supposed to did we? Sure, we scored a few goals but all we did was beat teams we were supposed to beat.

Even then we needed right up till the final whistle sometimes. 1-1 with Hamilton until 3 goals in the last 12mins. 1-1 with Aberdeen until Ajer scored with 9mins to go. At Livingston, we needed an injury-time EQUALISER to rescue a point!

The zombies imploded. THAT was what got us so comfortably over the line last season.

Even looking at our first three games this season it was crystal clear we had huge issues.

We beat Hamilton 5-1 at CP but let’s not forget they could’ve scored 3 or 4 against us that day we were so bad at the back.

Then we drew at Kilmarnock and required an 83min winner against Dundee Utd to squeeze past them 1-0.

Whoever the new guy is he’ll be expected to win nothing this term. No pressure from fans at all.

Of one thing though there is no doubt whatsoever. We need someone in to replace NL NOW! The new manager can’t be expected to turn up in June and have this mess sorted out by Champions League Qualifier time in July. That’s if we hold on to second place.

If the board allow the car crash that is NL to see out the season then we’ll not win the league next year.

If we want to be in with a chance of competing for trophies next season the time to act is now!

I agree. I think the new manager will be appointed when the other team mathematically wins the title. There will then be no pressure on the new manager save for a Glasgow darby. That should give him time to get the club going good way.
