News today that Burnley have sacked Sean Dyche.
That’s Sean Dyche who’s more or less propelled a small town Club (admittedly with a good history in the game) into a top flight team most Clubs have hated playing.
He’s had 1 poor Season in a Decade and now they’ve sacked him with 8 games left.
The Club have said
“Firstly, we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sean and his staff for their achievements at the club over the last decade," said Pace.
"During his time at Turf Moor, Sean has been a credit both on and off the pitch, respected by players, staff, supporters, and the wider football community
However, results this season have been disappointing and, while this was an incredibly difficult decision, with eight crucial games of the campaign remaining, we feel a change is needed to give the squad the best possible chance of retaining its Premier League status..”
So you see what they are actually saying is thanks for the past DECADE OF RELATIVE SUCCESS but your one bad Season has trumped the lot.
Burnley look certain to go down and now Dyche has no chance of turning his one poor Season into another good one next Season.
It was after all Dyche who got them promoted not once but twice in the past Decade.
Such is life in Football money comes first as the Directors of Burnley have got used to the EPL gravy train ** that no doubt with Parachute Payments the next guy will get to enjoy as they rebuild again.
You have to feel for the guy with a voice like a chain saw going through corrugated iron with a dull chain.
Meanwhile…
