This unfortunately is not surprising at all and it’s about time it got called out. I attended a boxing event run by the St Andrew’s Sporting Club a few years back which had a number of guest speakers from the upper echelons of Scottish sport and journalism. I was shocked at the time by how much anti-Irish, anti-C@tholic, anti-Protestant, and homophobic jokes were thrown in by almost every speaker. It’s those at the top that are keeping the hatred going more than anyone else.
