Why Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart didn't come to Paradise a year earlier

Who knows how last season could’ve gone for Celtic had Joe Hart arrived at Paradise in the summer of 2020. Certainly, the Hoops would’ve have shelved out £4.5m on Greek international Vasilis Barkas. Hart, after his first campaign with Tottenham, might’ve helped. Admittedly, it would’ve taken more than a confident goalkeeper, but it’s a fun…

Joe has turned out to be a brilliant piece of business and I never doubted that he’d be anything other than a success at Celtic. I never understood the doubters you don’t win EPL titles and get 75 caps for England through being a bad keeper. Quite frankly I think what Guardiola did to him at Man City was a disgrace he humiliated him, is it any wonder his form and confidence dipped. He came to Celtic with a clean slate and has a manager who believes in him, he’s been a massive help to Callum with his captaincy and his experience in the dressing room will be invaluable to the young players. It’s been a privilege to watch and have this guy in our side and like Ange not only is he terrific at his job he’s a wonderful human being as well. When I look at Ange and Joe in interviews you can see that they’re both genuinely good people, you can’t fake character, you could try but you’d get found out quickly. I know at 34 Joe’s best days are behind him but for a keeper that’s still young and he obviously keeps himself in tip top condition and that can only benefit the club and I hope he’s here for a few more years yet.
